Moog Sub Phatty custom wooden side panels

Post by sidamosae.be » Sat Oct 05, 2013 4:19 pm

Since I made a red Mellotron-like wooden stand for my Nord Modular G2, I also wanted red wooden panels for my Sub Phatty.
A friend of mine made them for me (no computer controlled machinery used).

I'm very proud of the result. Will post a new picture soon with the current red color (I also like the natural look).

That looks pretty good. A pic with better lighting if available would show off the workmanship a bit better.

That's very nice. The Nord case/stand looks great too.

its funny...i think the black cheeks the Sub comes with look really awsome. Clean and modern, with the retro styling on the knobs and silver panel its a great combination. If the Sub came with red wood cheeks i bet i would be drooling to get a hold of some nice black rubber cheeks! But the job you have done is really amazing, especially around the midi ports where there needs to be inset holes and a square USB port.

Red definately makes it look more "Minimoog" ish

Looks great! I'd love to have the natural wood version. Let me know if your friend is going to make more :-)

It's birch.

I liked the natural look too, but together with the NS88 and NMG2 it looks nicer in red.
