Case for a Sub Phatty

Post by hexeract » Mon Jul 22, 2013 6:51 pm

Hey I'm looking for a hardcase for my Sub Phatty. Any suggestions one what models fit well? I'm not interested in a gig bag, I need a case for road tour, don't need to be airplane rated.

I use the soft case for the regular Phatty. It's great, the extra room is cool for my cables and other junk. Looks fantastic, too.

Try to source a hardcase locally if possible. Shipping can be expensive.

There are some standard recommendations as far as type of foam and how thick it should be all around. Hopefully someone with knowledge on specifics will chime in.

I made a case for my LP stage from an old footlocker trunk. The angled panel requires the use of a pretty large case. The smaller keyboard on the sub should help a bit.

Getting one custom made locally. I will post a pic when it's here!
Should be finished next week.

The Little Phatty dust cover from Moog should cover it although its a bit wider so not a perfect fit.

good question... have not seen anything about a dustcover from MOOG on it yet ... and have been using a towel for now... but would get one if/when they do, since they have excellent quality ones for all the rest of the instruments, however they have been bumping back/forward the date several months on the gig bag let alone announcing a hard case or dust cover

Sonfish, is that an ATA rated Flight Case? Do you have contact info for your friend, the builder?

Looks great!

Apparently Moog is offering an ATA Road Case for the Sub Phatty now: http://www.moogmusic.com/products/acces ... -road-case

And a dust cover too: http://www.moogmusic.com/products/acces ... dust-cover
