Does the Sub Phatty have a softer side?
Re: Does the Sub Phatty have a softer side?
These are lovely, Moognase: best answer to the question so far.

Turn down the osc mixer volume and you're in butter land. It's designed to be able to overdrive (without the extra od circuit), and unfortunately a lot of people tend to crank it to 10 for the demos. It can SO get polite if you want it to.

Synthway just posted another answer to the question in the title of this thread: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucbaVNOnD0k
Meanwhile, I just uploaded a new song to SoundCloud. The first half is Sunrizer and DSI Tetra. The soft, Sub Phatty part comes in halfway through: http://soundcloud.com/dswo/packing.

Thank you for posting my video here.
I'm the brazilian guy behind Synthway... I'll listen to your song later, going to sleep now!

Well, I've enjoyed all of your Phatty videos, including the Daft Punk cover that I didn't see until tonight.IgorCristo wrote:I'm the brazilian guy behind Synthway...

Lovely tune this "woodland". Sorry for the delayed reply! Never got to see it!!
Thank you for your kind words about my videos. I'm very glad you enjoy them. I try my best to make it in a more musical way and I guess that sometimes I just hit the sweetspot.
Very nice arpeggio line with the Phaedra. The only thing that I think isn't quite there is the volume of the Sub Phatty! It could've been louder!!!!
Cheers!

You're right. I was very inspired by the understated playing on this video and may have gone too far: http://youtu.be/P7kBMuxwXPIIgorCristo wrote:The only thing that I think isn't quite there is the volume of the Sub Phatty! It could've been louder!!!!

This track has another example of how soft the SUB PHATTY can be and surprisingly, how much it can sound like a Korg MS-10 with crazy long envelopes — it's actually side by side here with an MS-10

I have been using the SUB a lot naturally it being new so there are lots of examples on my Cloud
despite my reluctance to take proper notes --most tracks have a list of instruments and/or modules used at least
