The Electro-Harmonix 8-Step works great with my Sub Phatty!

I'm actually looking at getting the 8-step myself. Do you send a midi clock to it? Is it pretty stable as far as keeping the tempo? I've had mediocre results sending midi to my Sub's LFO. Jumps and skips around quite a bit.steam-powered wrote:The Electro-Harmonix 8-Step works great with my Sub Phatty!

Re: Sub Phatty - Arpeggiator in Update?
I srsly hope Moog are thinking of at least some sort of update to the Sub when the 37 gets put out. An arp would be great , or the step seq in the editor.
Maybe we can make raps or seq in editor and save and just have an on/off key command on Sub.
I need something to spice things up, I find the Subs limited control a bit boring at present.

I'd welcome an update, too. But I would never call the "Sub Phatty" boring, anymore than I would call the original Model D boring, or even the Korg Volca Bass.h4ndcrafted wrote:I find the Subs limited control a bit boring at present.

Just posting in case the developers are indeed considering adding an arpeggiator based on user feedback. I would definitely enjoy having a simple one in a future firmware update. Even a simple latch function to allow both hands freedom to tweak would be great.

i would also love an arp on the sub phatty incase the guys are reading this! even if there is a way to sun the repeat envelopes to midi that would be super!

I am so happy with my Sub Phatty but is there any news about a arpeggiator and/or step sequencer ?
Or news about the firmware update in relation with pairing the Sub to Ableton without troubles?

Re: Sub Phatty - Arpeggiator in Update?
An arp would be cool, but I think an option to turn the preset panel into an 8-step sequencer would be killer. I imagine that could be possible through the software, and maybe even making it one of the "under the hood" functions.
If that happened, I'd have midi sync'd sequences AND lfo, could make for a lot of fun. Even if it was just a basic pattern type of effect and not actually recording any notes it could be useful.

@AJS Yes I thought about that however it would be awesome to have it in one instrument.
All those extra pieces of gear take to much space and extra cables IMO.
