Oh and Amos confirmed on Muffs, that the Sub Phatty will get looping EGs...how cool is that? 8) :D

Nope, not the only one. 8)

Wow, awesome Voyager + Sub Phatty duet starting around 7:28!

Thanks for the answer... Maybe a Moog synth with these easier and in-tune (all-the-way-through) oscillators is coming. Like, say, a well-tempered little phatty. In this case, I'd be in.

I don't understand what you mean, Edoardo. The Sub Phatty's oscillators are designed to be as stable as you can get without going digital.

I got that the SubPhatty's oscillators are "better tuned", let's say, than the ones on the Little Phatty, all the way through the octaves. But the SubPhatty has much less versatility. Am I correct?

I'd say the oscillators are more stable and more precise. As far as versatilty, the SubPhatty seems to surpass the Little Phatty thanks to its sub oscilltaor and noise generator, as well as its overdrive possibilities.

To me, the only points that are in favor of the Little Phatty for now are the arpegiattor, 3 octaves vs. 2, CV out extension availability and -let's be honest- the LED knobs are so conveninent when it comes to know where you're at in terms of settings when changing of preset.
Other than that, I'd go sub sub!

This was the statement I found confusing. Here you're implying the Sub Phatty oscilators are hard to stay in tune, despite lack of evidence to support that statement.

Apparently, Amos is still working on the Sub Phatty OS. He just added looping envelope generators to it a few days ago.

So - after reading over the "under the hood" specs again, I see "LFO KB tracking" and "LFO Range." So - could this this be the solution for audio rate filter FM? I'm assuming this means that the keyboard tracking can modulate the rate of the LFO and that the LFO has different ranges (maybe high, medium and low?). I'd like to know if this means it can produce the same ranges that the LP does. I had initially written off the Sub Phatty due to this omission, but if it's as good as the LP (along with the new oscillator clarity), then I think it's a done deal for me.

Sorry if i've not read this elsewhere, if indeed it has been clarified. Thanks! :D

Sub phatty lfo actually goes further into the audio realm than the lp does I believe.

A few questions regarding the SubPhatty.

1. Is the modulation matrix the same to the Little Phatty? Does it have a second mod buss like the Little Phatty and are the modulation indexes deeper than the Little Phatty at max settings?
2. Is the LFO frequency the same as the Little Phatty?
3. Is the VCF, the same as the Little Phatty?
4. Apparently there are new VCOs that sound like the Minitaur VCOs? True or not?
5. Is the USB noise problem sorted?

Would be great to have the Minitaur VCOs as I prefer them to the Little Phatty VCOs, although I do prefer the Little Phatty VCF to the VCF of the Minitaur.

1. Not exactly (OSC2 as mod source is dropped), 2nd and 3rd destinations actually, Don't know
2. There are two ranges Low and High. Goes into audio, not sure how far.
3. Pretty sure.
4. Kind of a mix between the phatty and minitaur. Stable like the minitaur and fully variable waveshape like the phatties.
5. IDK

Ok, I am holding on to my Slim Phatty for sure. Having OSC2 modulate the VCF at self oscillation, then assign the LFO to cut-off for some rhythmic, MIDI synced patch (and then also feed that into the MF-102) to create retro sci-fi FX clangy/metallic sounds, is one of my favorite things about my SP.

Cheers Sir Nose.
