I've been enjoying this beast of a synth for a couple months now, and tonight I wanted to make a lead by running the Moog out through my guitar amp and controlling it with the EWI. I've been at it for hours, trying to get breath control to modulate filter cutoff so I can start making a patch lol.
So far, I've tried:
-disabling modwheel and setting breath ctrl to 100% on mod 1
-holding the DEST button and wiggling the cutoff wheel to target cutoff with mod 1
-make sure EG time/PGM is selected on the mod selector for mod 1
-set Mod Amount to 100%. I also tried 0% and -100%. This dial has no effect.
-set MOD 1 EDIT>>>PGM SRC: CONST ON
-set filter amount to 0%. (This dial does set a range from 0% to the filter amount value which is controlled by my controller and targets cutoff, but it's still using LFO 1 to sweep within that range, so that's a no-go)
-disabled breath control and set mod whl back to 100% so I don't blow my brains out troubleshooting
-set EG amount to 0
What's left to try? I'm running the EWI into my Mac via MIDI to USB, and connected the Moog to the Mac via USB as well. I can play notes through the Moog using the EWI, but the issue is I can't even get the Moog's own mod wheel to control cutoff. So, uh... what do I do?
Subsequent 37 modulating filter cutoff with breath control?

The quote above is the one thing I see that could be the problem.danperezsax wrote: ↑Tue Dec 28, 2021 6:50 am holding the DEST button and wiggling the cutoff wheel to target cutoff with mod 1
You need to use the dedicated filter amount knob in the Mod 1 section.

Re: Subsequent 37 modulating filter cutoff with breath control?
Thanks for that suggestion! The problem I'm having with this method is that the filter amount knob regulates how much the LFO affects filter cutoff position. I don't want the LFO to drive that at all, I want to map cutoff to breath control. I know it's possible because other forum members have mentioned it, although they've mentioned controlling the mod wheel with breath control, and having mod wheel control cutoff position. That's a fine enough workaround for me, but it still leaves me with the problem: I can't get anything to control cutoff position except the cutoff wheel itself or an LFO.

Your EWI not only sends MIDI CC'2!
You must filter out other MIDI CCs!
See the MIDI controller list in the manual.
(both EWI and S-37!)
For example, you can use a midi foot controller,
to send MIDI CC'2
and test your settings on the S-37!
The PGM SRC can be anything except SINE or NOISE LFO!
On this LFO RATE has no effect!
I took some photos.
With these settings, the S-37 only produces a clearly audible tone,
when I press the pedal!
Set MOD x CONTROL
MOD WHEEL +6%
(maybe) VELOCITY +12%
So the wheel will go up more than 100%
but only when breath (BC) sends 100%
100% means the settings of your PITCH, FILTER, MOD 1 - AMT Wheels!
