Electric Blue touch up paint

Post by rushton » Mon Jun 07, 2010 6:08 am

I got a little chip just under the keys on my voyager which was really devastating, does anyone know if you can get touch up paint off moog? Ive email a couple of times but havent heard back as of yet.
If not has anyone touched up with plain black paint and got it looking good?

I'd be interested in any recommendations here as well. My Electric Blue has a few minor nicks on it that are hardly noticeable (benefit was a significant price reduction) but would be nice to touch up.

I suspect that for small areas, normal black gloss would be OK. The flecked black of the Electric Blue is so difficult to see on my sample that I doubt anyone would notice. However, there is black gloss and there is black gloss so the right one would be preferable.

What is Moog's response time like on e-mails? I mailed them a few days ago on a different matter and haven't heard (although to be fair the weekend got in the way for some of that time).

I have an Anniversary Edition and would also be interested in touch up paint.
So this thing only plays one note?

Amos messaged me a while ago about this. Now i can't vouch for the Electric Blue but as far as the black Anniversary AE he said that its finished with 'ordinary furniture grade black laquer' and that brushing a couple of thin layers on any chipped areas will make for a smooth as finish. Hope this helps.

Thanks, that helps.

I would imagine you couldn't tell the difference of a little spot of black paint on the Electric Blue.
