I have always wondered about the 'granularity' of bass sounds with a square wave on Moog synthesizer, upon reaching the lower end of the keyboard, and entering sub-audio. Now I understand.

what does this graphic show? I don't know this type.

It's a spectrogram in time of the Midi-Murf mids pattern number 4, that you can clearly see on the white dots here. It looks elongated because the Y axis (frequency) is log on the graph, but not in the book.

Do you know of any vst's or other ways to run a spectograph?
