Friends,

I don't know if this is a preset from the Voyager or not. I made this a few years ago with my old Voyager and Im trying my best to deconstruct it. I was thinking its a preset but Now Im thinking that I programmed it myself.

I am pretty sure that its a resonant filter, with a release time on the VCA envelope. I can't figure out what is getting the oscillator pitch to drop or what is making the oscillator pulse like that.

If any of you can help....please do. I need this pretty badly for a song that Ive been trying to finish for years lol.

Were you using a 351/251 at that time?
I've come up with an approximation of your patch but had to use the foogers to do it.
I can post it to tweak since I can't post the .syx here along with patch and performance info.
Trying to decode a patch from what I hear from a Dell Laptop's speakers isn't real accurate, but it might be close enough for you to remember what you did back then!

(It will work without Foogers, but is weaker in the doppler shift department.)

Man that was straight up voyager.

The best I can come up with is that its a resonant filter sweeping.

Theres MAYBE some 3-1 FM going on, and I THINK theres some detuning going on on the oscillators but one of them isn't changing pitch.

I can't tell if its just a pitch wheel or if theres some modulation there. I tried my best to recreate it and I cycled thorough every single preset several times.

I THINK that I used a variation of Horror SHow, speeding up the LFO but I can't get it precicely.

MAN! lolol

Sounds to me as if you might have:
Osc. 2 hard sync'd to 1 and the shaping tool is switched to envelope.
Osc. 1 at 32' and osc. 2 at 16' and it's feq is about -70
Osc. 1 a Triangle.
Osc. 2 slightly sawish. Season the osc. waves to taste.
You might have a square LFO going at a 190 setting with the destination being Osc 2 or pitch. Or it could be Osc. 3 with a pulse wave modulating Osc. 2.
Adjust the amount accordingly: maybe about 40 to 50. if you are using pedal bus.
Have your filter envelope at Attack 118, Decay 190, Sustain 0, and release about 90.
Adjust the filter and amount to your taste. I have cutoff 102 and resonance at 136.
The filter amount is 55

This is not exactly what you have, but it might be close enough to jog your memory.

Man thats like Commander Data analyzed that patch! Great ear there! Ill check it out as soon as I can. Ive been spending all day trying to finish this song and that patch was supposed to sound as if george jetson made a second pass, but slower so one of those tones (the primary shaking engine) was like a half step or so higher.

THanks greatly!

I just found 'OLD MOVIE" on one of the banks of my machine. That was probably where you started from. In just a couple of seconds I had this:

F0 04 01 00 03 47 03 4C 1C 5C 11 40 46 02 19 00 00 70 60 0C 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 34 33 08 0B 61 1E 03 3C 03 04 3F 40 76 41 29 08 00 00 70 15 41 4C 04 00 00 6C 33 40 04 03 77 0F 00 00 58 75 40 7C 07 39 05 4C 5C 00 02 40 23 06 72 16 00 00 40 4E 01 0B 17 08 60 20 22 40 0D 07 32 61 6B 3F 77 53 0F 07 00 40 17 4A 4A 51 23 37 6E 1B 37 20 64 00 01 02 14 08 10 20 40 00 01 02 04 08 10 20 40 00 15 10 06 00 19 00 66 00 00 00 0B 06 00 00 00 04 04 00 20 20 00 00 00 00 F7

Paste that into the sysex screen of midiox and load to the voyager. Single patch.
I'm sure you can dial this in in a few minutes since you have a good audio copy of the original sound!

It would be a good game to play. The "listen to this sound clip and come up with the patch" contest. T-shirts, mugs, I dunno.
