Voyager mod1 & mod2 bus programming

Post by ummagumma » Sat Dec 31, 2022 4:53 am

I may be misunderstanding something. I assumed you could use the external Mod1 & Mod2 CV inputs purely by themselves, in the programming menu.

But there is no option to select Mod1 or Mod2 as a source/shaping/destination in the mod bus programming.

So you can't separate them from any of the standard source/shape/dest options. Those are always combined with the external Mod1 & Mod2 CV's.

For example noise ( or one of the other menu sources ) will always be there, even though you have external CV plugged in.

I wonder why they never thought of that? Being able to control each mod bus with a different external CV & bypass the internal sources would be great.

I spent some more time reading the manual. It definitely doesn't work the way I assumed it did, and seems rather clunky:

Mod2 CV affects both busses. ( I thought there was a typo on the bus#1 front panel control switch: logically Mod1 CV would be an input option for bus#1 ? )

Mod1 CV controls the amount of Mod2 CV, like the mod wheel controls bus#1.

Very strange they didn't allow for 2 separate CV input Mod bus options
