Voyager XL Patch (My First Post)

Post by Strider » Tue Oct 05, 2021 7:45 pm

Hi everyone,

I am new to the forum and somewhat new to synthesis, but I thought I'd share a patch I just came up with. I was wondering whether it was possible (on the XL) to delay LFO modulation triggering when a note is played (i.e. you press a key and it doesn't start modulating until a second after holding the key down). I don't have it perfectly but I think I have it pretty close, so I'll share the patch:

>set LFO sync to KB
>patch triangle (or other shape) LFO1 -> attenuator 2 in (adjust voltage to change amplitude)
>attenuator 2 output -> CV input (modulation destination of choice)
>square LFO2 negative voltage output -> LFO rate input
>KBD gate out -> LFO2 clock

Use LFO2 rate to set when LFO1 "triggers"

When triggered, LFO1 will modulate at a moderately fast rate when set to 0.2 (lowest). Sweeping past that will generate very fast spikes in rate.

If a slower rate when triggered is desired, make the following changes:
>LFO2 negative voltage output -> attenuator 1
>set channel 1 amount to +5
>attenuator 1 output -> LFO rate input
>adjust channel 1 offset to control triggered LFO1 rate

Like I said I'm new to this so this may be more convoluted than it needs to be, or there may be a more accurate way to achieve the same effect, but it seems to work nicely for me so far. Technically LFO1 doesn't trigger on like a gate but oscillates very slowly until LFO2 bumps it to a noticeable rate. Let me know what you think.

Thank you
