Model D osc. boards

Post by Tonecab » Fri Apr 23, 2021 7:12 pm

Greetings! I´m in middle of troubleshooting older model D with defective Osc 2. I have also fully functioning later model D, with ua726´s on osc board. Is it safe and possible, to try that later osc.board in the earlier unit, just by test means? I´ve seen few older Model D´s retrofitted with later osc.board, so I presume they are interchangeable.

Please be advised that the range and scale trim pots are in different locations on the new versus old boards. They will not line up with the access holes on the back panel.

I´m aware of that, I just want test if silent osc.2 is caused by osc.board or somewhere else. I was asking just is it safe to swap boards, or is there something else electronically involved swapping boards?

I went the other way (old board in "newer" unit) with no issues (other than the back panel thing). I'm assuming the same for your scenario.
