Minimoog reissue pitch wheel, broken?

Post by john64 » Sat Apr 17, 2021 5:48 pm

Hi,

I just received a Minimoog reissue that I bought second hand and I noticed that the pitch wheel seems to be in 2 pieces, was it broken and glued or that’s how it should be?

stress from the screw that holds it onto the pot below, very common on vintage as well as resissues

I pulled mine apart & dribbled some krazy glue into the crack: carefully put it back, not overtightening the screw

Thanks for the info ummagumma

I was afraid that it was indeed broken. The sad part is the seller didn’t even tell me about that issue. Oh well, I guess I’ll keep it that way while I try to find a replacement part.

Bummer,

Honestly I prob wouldn’t have noticed that if it were on mine unless the wheel was behaving oddly.

Looks very inconspicuous

You need to be careful tightening the screw, otherwise it cracks the wheel & will not stay put on the potentiometer: spins
