Minimoog and midi - just giving a steady sound.

Post by Bingle » Wed Mar 24, 2021 1:36 pm

Hi there. I have set jumper inside Deopfer cmv4 to s-trig. When I connect to Moog s-trig there comes just a steady signal - no reaction on midi. The cable is has no converterfunction like v-trig to s-trig. Any idea what the problem might be? Many thanks Andreas

What Minimoog are we talking about? Vintage or Reissue?

You use the S-Trigger socket of the vintage one? You got the right jack for it (2-pin Cinch/Jones connector)? It isn't a ¼" one!

The reissue Minimoog uses a ¼" trigger input and works with V-Trigger.

Have you checked the outgoing signal on the Doepfer? Is it really a S-Trigger?

But actually, a steady sound sounds like there is a short circuit already present in the S-Trigger input of a vintage Minimoog. So check the 2-pin Cinch/Jones connector cable (if using a vintage Minimoog), if it is causing a short circuit.
keep on turning these Moog knobs

Sequence:
Prodigy * minimoog '79 * Voyager * MF102 * MF103 * MF104z * MP201 * Taurus 3 * Minitaur * Sub Phatty * MF105 * Minimoog 2017+ MUSE * One 16
