minimoog model d’s S-trigger with keystep

Post by 0sc » Tue Mar 23, 2021 5:33 am

Does anyone use the vintage minimoog model d and keystep by connecting it with s-trig? There is no sound when I play the note in the keystep

Is the Keystep able to send S-Trigger (actually a gate to ground)?
Most synths use a voltage trigger. And most analog interfacing of todays sequencers don‘t offer the needed S-Trigger.
There are converter available. It takes just two resistors and a transistor to do a converter.
keep on turning these Moog knobs

Sequence:
Prodigy * minimoog '79 * Voyager * MF102 * MF103 * MF104z * MP201 * Taurus 3 * Minitaur * Sub Phatty * MF105 * Minimoog 2017+ MUSE * One 16

I think the Keystep gate out needs to be set to STrig whIch is what the Moog requires to fire the EGs. Manual at 10.9.4.3. You will also need a mini-phone to synch jones cable. YOu can make one, or DotCom sells a 1/4" to synch jones https://synthesizers.com/qmvs.html which you could use with a 1/4" F to miniphone M adaptor.
Moog IIP, One 16V and MiniMoog, DotCom/FSFX/Moon/STG 110, Cubase 12Pro, Ableton Live 10/64, RME UFX+, 2xMR816, MioXL, Expressionist, Cirklon, Analog Rytm Mk II, Axon AX50, Customized Variax JTV69s (the Hexstainocaster), Strat, Godin ACS Slim, Helix.
