Vintage Minimoog D Oscillator 3 Failure

Post by MusicZimm » Wed Jan 27, 2021 1:42 pm

Greetings.
I purchased my Minimoog Model D (S/N 2947) in 1973, and have taken good care of it, but like anything electronic from that long ago, things start to fail.
A few years ago Oscillator 3 stopped working properly. There’s no audio output, and as a modulation generator appears to have only a DC voltage output as exhibited by its effect on Osc. 1 & 2. The triangle & sawtooth have little effect, and the successive pulse waveforms raise the pitches in progressively higher amounts...but still does not modulate - only changes the pitch upwards. The noise generator modulates as expected.
I’m hoping that this is an issue with the electrolytic caps, which I can replace if that’s indeed the case. Has anyone experienced a similar issue & had success fixing it?
Thanks in advance.
