Minimoog Model D vs reissue

Hi - are there any forum discussions (here on on other forums) where people have compared the sound of vintage Minimoog Model Ds with the reissue? Or does anyone here have / used both and have any thoughts?

I know there is all the usual "no 2 vintage synths sound the same" argument but I'm just wondering if there is any consensus on whether Moog Music totally nailed the sound or maybe not quite?

Thank you.

The reissue Minimoog is based on the second revision of Minimoogs. So it sound even better than my 1979 original Minimoog. I own also a reissue Minimoog for 2 years.

The only negative detail on the reissue Minimoog ist the way the keyboard action works: it is NOT a voltage dividing two contact one, but a modern Fatar keybed. So there is a simple D/A conversion going on in the reissue keybed. And this is, I wonder why, causing a noticeable amount of glide even with glide switched off, if you play at least a two octave jump.

The problem with the stiff center detent of the pitchwheel is easy to solve by undoing one of washer at the fixed point of the detent lever. A picture is here in the forum.

Till, I’d not noticed that, I’m intrigued. Will try.
As for the sound and whether Moog nailed it I think the verdict is yes.

I brought my RA Moog Minimoog to the Moog store and yes the reissue did nail the sound.

I have had a couple oldschool keyboard players try mine out, and they approved

not only did Moog nail the sound, but the added LFO, MIDI, and I think some other CV options are a huge plus, over an original

you can set the keybed to mimic the old pratt-reid resistor tolerances as well

oh, and I agree with removing that nut to make the pitch wheel indent not so abrupt!! I did it to mine the other day
