D reissue CV issue with CV.OCD

Post by mlgueld » Sat May 11, 2019 3:07 pm

here's what I have:
minimoog Model D reissue
Oberheim SEM Patch Panel reissue
CV.OCD

here's what I'm trying to do:
setup a makeshift Two-Voice using the Model D keyboard

here's what I did:
setup the CV.OCD for two voices
turned off local control on the Model D
hooked the D MIDI out to the CV.OCD
hooked CV/Gate's from CV.OCD to SEM and D

here's what happened:
the SEM worked perfectly
the D produced the wrong pitches

I thought I had setup the CV.OCD properly, but after it didn't work I went back in and tried a number of different things, like 1.1V/Oct and even Hz/Oct. no dice. I am relatively new to modular sorts of things, and I have a feeling that there are things I don't understand about the TRS jacks on the D. I connected it using 1/8" to 1/4" TS cables, I think I got them at Radio Shack.

does anyone know what I'm missing?

I'm not real familiar with the re-issue model D but I'm wondering if the Model D keyboard generates CV with Midi Local set to Off? I'm thinking you have 2 sources of pitch CV; one from the keyboard and one from your CV.OCD. Try disconnecting the cable between the CV.OCD pitch out and Model D and only have the gate signal connected. Does the pitch change when playing the keyboard?
