A few problems with the Minimoog Model D

Post by Jasperh » Fri Sep 28, 2018 8:39 am

Hello,

I bought a Model D and love it. However, I just had a few issues I'd like to check:

1) The self oscillating filter does not play all pitches and cuts on on the lows. Is this the case with all Moog ladder filters?

2) When I apply the envelope to pitch, sustain is not at 'zero' so I have to retune the synth. A bit annoying. Is this fixable?

3) Leakage from oscillators. Even when turned down, they can be heard.

Would be great to hear your thoughts please.

Thanks

Jasper

Not sure if the filter envelope to pitch is normal. I had a Behringer D and it had that problem (which is partly why I returned it. More irritating was the fact that a square wave LFO also didn’t return to zero on the “off” portion of the wave cycle). However the Moog Model D I tried in a music shop also had exactly the same envelope issue.
