A polite request for info about the new OS forthcoming?!
hello all on this forum and at moog. hope the winter is keeping you all indoors and working on projects.
now, it is not everyones problem that i bought my voyager minimoog not just for its fantastic sound, but to use as the sole midi controller in my studio. i cant imagine a better machine for this purpose; with its great knobs and 3 parameter touchpad.
im sure many of us are patiently waiting for a transpose function and, of course, midi CC messages from the voyager back to our other devices and DAW.
i kindly request an update from the nice people at moog on the status of this update, which i have gathered to be in progress. i hope that moog does not follow in the behavior of other software companies and freeze out their loyal customer base of the progress of updates. if there is some delay, please let us know, or if it is coming soon, but you dont know when, please give us a window; or at least "the programmer had the flu and was snowed in, so it may be an extre 3 weeks".
we know moog is a semi-small outfit, that is not built on software development... just please let us know where you are at, so we can plan accordingly.
i dont want to buy a replacement midi controller setup for a few weeks, but i will for several months.
please keep us in the loop.
thanx

Midi CC's etc.
We are working on this and I expect it will be ready no later than 8 weeks and possibly sooner. We apologize for the delay. And thank you for your patience.

Pots values in display
Moritz says that the pots already show there value in the display. Could someone please explain this to me. Is this referring to the factory sound settings/original pot values?

Gedya, this feature (I think it´s called parameter display..) has to be switched on in panel-mode and shows 2 values when turning a knob: the value saved in the preset & the actual value..
I´m not shure but I think this was added in the second update..
..I hope this answers your question!

The Panel Parameters is in the original operating system shipped with the Voyager. You access it from the preset menu, by pressing the panel button until "PM" or something similar comes up, turning a knob would then indicate what the original setting was, and what you've changed it to. I'm not sure what the numbers mean though.

When you are in edit mode the screen parameter echoes the 'live' value represented by the position of the control.
For a particular sound/voice let's use the volume as an example. I can't recall what the resolution of volume is, but if it was 8 bits then the possible values would range from 0 to 255 where 0 was minimum volume and 255 was maximum volume.
Moving the Volume knob in edit mode would change the value between 0 and 255.
Same goes for all other similar controls - (some will have more 'steps' than 256 though).
In regard to what the numbers "mean" ... generally, the higher the number then the more that the particular effect/parameter will be applied to the sound.
