There are a lot of things I patch that don't behave the way I would expect. For example:
I wanted to test the keyboard velocity, so I did:
- Init Parameters
- with the VX-351 I patched the keyboard velocity to the pitch
- turned off Osc1
- turned on Osc3
- turned off keyboard tracking on Osc3
But velocity doesn't really work fully. It plays the same pitch for velocity levels 0-110 (I don't know what the exact MIDI value is, but it's really high), and then from 111-127 it changes pitch a bit. I really have to whale on it to make it happen.
But when I turn on keyboard tracking for Osc3, it works fine. The pitch is very responsive to velocity, even very soft playing.
So, it seems like the Osc3 tracking switch is affecting the velocity curve. Can anyone explain what's really happening?
