Finally tried new Mini D

Post by drogoff » Sun Jun 11, 2017 11:33 pm

Guitar Center near my house doesn't carry anything interesting but was at one yesterday that had the reissue Minimoog. I haven't touched a real one since the '80s but have tried every other analog and VA to get that sound. About 30 seconds dialing up a nice resonant filter sweep and I had to start working to keep my wallet in my pocket :D It just sounded to beautiful and so easy to use!

A couple of nits. First, the center detent on the pitch-bend wheel was way too strong. Can it be loosened easily? Second, I'd change and/or add more choices of the 2 mod sources for the wheel. I'd like noise and LFO to get Wakeman's solo sound without eating VCO 3.

A bit of use and the pitch wheel loosens up a bit, a lot of people complained about it being stiff in the beginning. I got mine 6 months ago. It's just awesome.
