I knew I shouldn't have done it!

Post by industrial_gypsy » Tue Mar 21, 2006 8:27 pm

OK, I knew it would be a mistake but I did it anyway, and now I wish I hadn't. I'm talking about downloading presets.

I've got a sig. edition with OS 2.5 in. I thought I'd try the available downloads on the software link here and it's gone pear shaped. I'm left with the first seven patches filled, rest is garbage.

I used a free utility from alesis (freeloader) which I use without fail on all my other synths. I enabled sysex on the Voyager, played the sysex files into the Voyager, got the midi LED on, and destroyed my presets.

Are the sysex files on here OS specific? All I desperately want to do now is reload my 'old' presets. Is it freeloader or have I dropped a clanger elsewhere?

Urgent help, desperately needed please.

Come on guys, I only need to know if the sysex banks on this site, are specific to a particular OS or will they work with 2.5?

I'm going to try MidiOx tonight, to see if I get any further with that. Having trawled through previous threads on here, I'm now totally confused over which sound banks will work with which OS. All I want to do is restore my 2.5 with a bank of sounds, do I need a particular sound bank for 2.5?

Please help :-)

No, they're not OS specific, that's not how it works!

You shouldn't be having trouble unless your MIDI setup is not correct.

BTW, do the OS3.1 update. This might help!

Hi,

OK cheers, I think it might be down to this Freeloader application. Will try MidiOX tonight. Anything I need to be aware of with that, I've changed the I/O buffers to 512/32, anything else?

I'd rather get some sounds back in before I go up to 3.1 :-)

Thanks again

using midiox should fix your issue, it has worked perfectly for my 3.1 install on the new bd.

OK cheers, I'll have a go after Newcastle have beaten Chelsea.

(You can see I talk as much crap about football as I do about midi downloads)

All's well. MidiOx saves the day. I can download banks till I'm blue in the face.

Now all I have to do, is find the courage to upgrade the OS, next year maybe :-)

Cheers for the replies

I spoke too soon!!

I can download banks into the Voyager with MidiOx (Zonsyx is currently in) but I've got no pitch bend? If i go to the 'Edit' 'Pitch Bend' amount and set it to 'off' the presets are at the correct pitch. If I set it to any other value the pitch changes across the keyboard and I've still got no pitch bend.

To recap:

all I want to do is restore some decent patches that work fine with OS 2.5.

Can somebody please help with where I can either change what I've got or download a new sysex file?

Can't you just do the factory reset procedure to restore the original patches? :?:

Hi,

I hope it's an option in 2.5?

I've read that on a couple of other threads. Where is it and does it exist in OS 2.5?

Do i go into the copyright section of the 'Master menu'? If I do that I get some blurb about Rudi, and the date the software was written, but then what do you do?

Found it, I'm such a chump!

All seems well, I can go to bed now!

Cheers and sorry to bump this again and again!
