Possible Voyager Issues

Post by TimeEchoProductions » Wed Nov 18, 2015 9:24 pm

Hey,

Just wanted to run a few things by you all.

There are two things I have noticed on my Voyager that don't seem right.

1. The functioning of the FM:
I realize there is some variance in the functioning of analog instruments,
but I watched this video below, and it is a tutorial on using FM on the voyager,
and I tried to match what he is doing, and he turns the pitch of OSC 3 up
to around the notch for +6 and the fm is back to unison, or an octave up.
My oscillator 3 never gets up to unison, all the way up to +7 it is just short of getting
to the level that the syntorial guy is showing in the video below.

2: Aftertouch:
The after touch on the black keys is so stiff that it is basically unusable.
I can engage it using excessive force, but it is extreme, especially
compared to the aftertouch on the white keys.
I have a white Voyager Xl, and I am not sure if mine is in the
range with the less desirable keybed or not. Does anyone know what years or serial number range
the bad keybeds were on?

About the osc 3's range, there's a lo/hi range switch. Could it be a solution for you?

No, it's in the hi setting when I am doing this, what I am saying is that it is like a semi tone or two less range,
Vs. what is shown in that video from syntorial.
In the low setting it is obviously an LFO.
