Voyager Audio Input

Post by russ2m » Sun Nov 15, 2015 6:50 pm

Hi, Hope someone can advise. I am new to the Voyager and Synthesis generally

I bought a Select recently (second hand) and love it

I today tried to connect an external audio source and got no audible output. I tried a couple of different instruments (an SK1 and a teenage engineering OP1) there was nothing audible through the Moog in either case

In both cases the input control on the mixer was set to on and the volume up - with the OP1 the LED above the input flickered when i presented a tone but still nothing audible through the Moog

am i doing something really basic wrong? is there some other control in the menu I have to apply or turn on/off

or should this just be plug and play? (i.e. , is there a fault)

Thanks in advance :D

Have you tried switching the 'Env. Gate' panel switch from "Keyboard" to "External/On"?

That is the most likely reason it isn't working.

Hope this helps.

Indeed the input is routed the same way as the other sources (oscillators and noise), that is through the VCA. So you have to open the envelope of the later to hear what is coming through, or alternatively -as said by Greg- enable the GATE function to open the VCA continuously.
