With my VX-351 there is a multi pin adapter inside a shielded bag that came with the unit.
The instructions for installing the VX-351 to my voyager does not reference that part.
Is this the "gray connector (J1)" mentioned that is suppose to be "located on the other side of the output adapter board" in the Voyager?

Re: VX-351 Installation
Follow the cable attached to the connector the VX-351 plugs into. Remove the other end of the cable where it attaches to one of the main circuit boards. Insert the adapter to the place where the cable went, then plug the cable into it. There should be a marker indicating PIN 1 on the adapter and the main board. If you can't find it, I'll post a picture. I'm out shopping at the moment
BTW, I have an extra adapter. My Voyager came with the adapter installed, but no VX-351. When I got the VX-351, I discovered the adapter already installed.

Re: VX-351 Installation
Form what I can tell, is your removing the ribbon cable from one port and moving it to another (P1) which takes the new adapter.
Is that correct?
Thanks and pics would be GREAT.

Re: VX-351 Installation
Sorry I wasn't clear Scott. The adapter goes between the cable and the connector it's connected to on the main board. So:
1) remove cable from main board connector
2) insert adapter into main board connector
3) insert cable into adapter.
I'll get a picture up today if you need it. Sunday is my "do stuff my wife wants to do day". Actually, everyday is that day, but Sunday is the worst... err best! Yeah, yeah, that's the ticket!

Re: VX-351 Installation
That would be great because from what I can understand, it sounds like you're reattaching the cable to the exact same port it came from except with a piece of hardware between it. If that's the case, then how does this change anything? What is the "adapter" doing?MRNUTTY wrote:Sorry I wasn't clear Scott. Re: VX-351 Installation
Yup that exactly what you do. The adapter has resistor packs on it. So, it's either series or parallel termination of some type. Without looking at it closely, I'm not sure what it is exactly since mine was apparently outfitted for the VX-351 when I got it.

You wouldn't happen to still have the extra adapter? I'm looking for one.

Wow, that was a long time ago. I will have to dig for it now.salomonfuzz wrote: ↑Mon Dec 20, 2021 5:27 pmHiMRNUTTY wrote: ↑Sat Aug 01, 2015 12:26 pm Follow the cable attached to the connector the VX-351 plugs into.
