*sigh*
know how you feel...
i have been trying to sell mine for considerably less (good as new - now even better working than when i bought it!) for weeks. not one reply.
how moog music lives i don't know...
these things don't seem to sell. i smell exciting new products coming up at namm. i smell them. i can smell them. the smell of fresh synthesizers. hmmmm.
i'm crazy.

With functionally identical non-SE models selling for the prices they do, I think we'll have to wait many years to see an advantage on the resale value of an SE. Most people don't rationalise the SE against the original prices paid, they compare it to the current price (of a non SE) which is 2/3 of that.

Add the fact that they then expect it to be cheaper than a new one, and the price is just not right (even though it's not a direct comparison).

I really wanted a Voyager, would have loved it to be a Moog badged one, and an SE would have been a big bonus, but not many were for sale.

When I picked up a used (but mint) one in London which was all three for £1400, I was left wondering the same thing - are the MMVs or MMV SEs hard to sell (Not that I ever, ever will).

Thanks for the guidance re pricing.

As I need to convert all of my assets into a form that can be 'easily shared' I will accept £1400 from anyone interested.

I am also open to offers for a Triton Pro-X (inc. full sample RAM, MOSS board, SCSI board, ext. SCSI HD, Vintage Keys ROM).

Sorry for the non-Voyager content !

from 2400 down to 1400...

boy, that's losing a lot of money. i'm tempted to keep mine just for the sake of not losing all that dough. anyways, mine is a performer and i though i was really chopping off the price.

so might just hang on to it.

it doesn't look like it'll fall apart any time soon. unless some crazy person unleashes ww III and ireland gets involved. might as well create some more moog music.

!!! How much are new Voyagers going for across the pond? Here in the states I bought my AE new for less than $2500 which translates to a little more than £1400. You can buy used Voyagers on eBay for around $2000.

£2400 converts to about $4240!!! How much did you pay for it?

i paid 2000 UKP for the performer in 03 when it first came out. boy was i broke afterwards. and that's not the sig ed!
i was seriously considering buying a welsh mini.
just couldnt find one. haahahaha

(that outrageous price may explain why i was not so perky when i found out about the erm... undocumented features)

broke & unperky is not good for inspiration. unless you're a blues player.

It is now back in its box and destined to spend the next X years in a relatives attic.

I would far prefer for it to be used as intended.

£1000 gets it.

Damn good deal. I thought about your other post industrial_gypsy. I'm glad this one resurfaced for ya! I hope the deal works out. Moogs should always be in happy :D hands!

As OysterRock pointed out, those prices are terrible in the UK for fellow Moogers (and then there's turnkey  ).

Yep, I'm started to get all excited again, just waiting for a reply. Might even persuade me to part with my Prodigy and Source if it's as good as I hope it is.

Yea, very good deal for an SE. But all this just confirms what I was trying to point out about the resale value of voyagers and the different editions. It'll be interesting to see what the second hand trading prices are of the new rumored budget mono settle in at.
