Which moogerfooger should I get?

Post by dravis14 » Sun Dec 29, 2013 1:20 pm

Fellow Synthesists........

Had my Voyager EB for 3 yrs now...love it to death......have been looking at moogerfooger product demos and am getting intrigued....so here is my question..These units are quite pricey so, if ( for the time being) I was only gonna buy 1 MF.......which moogerfooger do you think would compliment my Voyager best? My inclination is towards the MF104 but wanna hear what you guys think. Thanx alot.

If I could only keep one it'd be the 104M or 103. I use both almost all the time. I play mainly bass with my Voyager so the 102 and 105 are a little to "spacey" for me. The 101 and 107 I have was bought t use with bass guitar. Rarely use these with the Voyager.

Minimoog Voyager EB & Minitaur + MF-101 + MF-103 + MF-104M + MF-107 + CP-251 + Minifooger Drive. MachineDrum UW + MonoMachine + Rickenbackerbass (-75) + Hagströmguitar (-75).

Try Novamusik, they used to have some fantastic deals out there. They have had a management change, so I haven't verified if they still give the rock bottom prices on stuff. For instance the 105m was $380, the Voyager and Vx351 was $2999, and they sold my father a fantom for that same price. I think 225 for the 101 and 250 for the 102. They once quoted me $500 for the 108m which wasn't the pre-order price.

But without knowing anything about your playing style, I'd say that the delay is a good option. It will fatten up the sound, it will give good modulation and is suitable for any style of music. Some of the other foogers like the 102 are for more experimental applications but all of them have subtleties that compliment any style. The 104 is my desert island pdal....until I get my hands on a tape delay.

Good luck.

My favourite of all time is the 103 Phasor. That being said, the 104 is fantastic, just know that you can't run it through the Insert jack of the Voyager.

Hit me up with a PM if you're in the States and are looking for a good deal on a quality used Fooger. I have duplicates and triplicates of most of them (more than I need).
