Only one bank available on Voyager RME.

Post by tarkington » Sat Aug 10, 2013 1:22 pm

Hi,

I bought a used Voyager RME on a trial basis from a local music store. Its serial number is 0011 so I think it’s an early edition. It works perfectly and I upgraded to OS 3.5. The problem is that it shows only one program bank: A. Nothing happens in Panel Mode when I press the cursor and enter +1 to move to the other banks, it stays on bank A. I used Voyagers before and always had access to banks A through G.
Is there a memory defect or is the multi-bank feature not available on the early RMEs?

Is there a memory upgrade available? I’m using the Voyager editor and it can send and receive hundreds of patches but they can only be assigned on the RME to bank A. The editor does not see any other banks on the RME but A. Any ideas appreciated, thanks!

Update:

Called Moog tech and found out my early edition RME only has one memory bank, of 128 programs. I can upgrade to a new chip with calibration for about $400.
