Why are you worried? If the Sub sounds better to you, why wouldn't you want to have one?

One of the beauties of analog synths is the complex diversity between all of them. The Sub Phatty will not sound any better or any worse than a Voyager. It will sound totally different that a Voyager. At it's core, they are different oscillators with a more aggressive mixer. The filter is different and it has a sub osc. The voyager had a complex mod bus matrix and dual 24db filters with a plorethra of CV I/O. It's like comparing apples and shoe leather.

I'm sorry but... This topic subject is rather ludicrous.

It's like asking: is a Stradivarius violin better than a Steinway Grand Piano ?

They're both fantastic musical instruments, period.

Hahaha! Well, you can play more than one note with either the Voyager or the Sub Phatty (by having the oscillators tuned to different ones). Much like a Violin can also play more than one note, too!

I think the Little Phatty sounds better than the Voyager. That doesn't mean I don't want a Voyager. The Voyager has sound capabilities beyond the LP's. It does pads very well, for example. Every Moog has the Moog sound, but every Moog sounds different. The Sub Phatty does grit and grime, whereas the Voyager does crystal and polish. What sounds better? I say both! You don't always want grit and grime, and you don't always want crystal and polish. I use the Little Phatty for lead sounds, and the Taurus for earth-shaking bass sounds. I don't use the Taurus for leads, because I don't like the lead sounds it produces, and it is capable of doing leads. I'm sure you wouldn't replace your Voyager if you had a Sub Phatty, but the Sub Phatty would increase the number and types of sounds in your arsenal.

I got to play on the sub phatty a lot this week, and was really impressed by how different it truly is. I say get both: )

The sub phatty, in addition to having some lovely grit and growl, has an incredible punch to it, courtesy of the sub osc. The noise is incredible, and the modulation bus has a brilliant workflow. tons of fun!
