Hey guys,

My first post here, but I'm hoping you can help me. I want to reproduce the CS80 Blade Runner Brass sound on my Voyager Select Series. I found a video on YouTube that nails the sound, but I'd like to know how to setup the patch on my Voyager. Can anyone help me?

It would be much appreciated!

Martin

looks like he has it set on all saw waveforms, maybe just one or 2 "on" in the mixer section, same octaves(?)- sounds like low resonance, and the filter at around 3/4, with just enough room to open and close it for effect- run it through a boatload of reverb and experiment until to get it- it's not the hardest sound to nail...

Try setting the filters to the lo pass/hi pass mode and play with the Fc & spread controls. The filters should be set as 2-pole 12db slopes. Use velocity & aftertouch on everything! Well really pitch (lfo) & filter mod (aftertouch CV) will do. You can do a version of the CS-80 post filter sine wave (if you have the VX-351 CV out box) by selecting OSC 3 (triangle wave) as your source in the pedal mod bus and taking the out at the pedal bus on the VX and routing that back into the Voyager's ext. in. This adds bottom end which can be lost when using bandpass filtering. This is off the top, I'm not at my gear & I use Arturia's CS-80V for these sounds. This may stray from the brass sound alittle, but I thought the sound in the vid was too moogy.

Thanks for the reply guys - much appreciated! I'll try these tomorrow. I managed to get a similar sound by just playing around, but it wasn't quite there, so hopefully your input will get me there.

Thanks again :)

Wont that signal (osc3) still go thru the filter ?

Yes, You are right. that's what I get for posting away from my gear! The OSC out should go to a separate mixer in on your system set-up.
