Voyager RME -> potmapping: mod1 and mod2 useless as a source

Post by scd » Sun Nov 04, 2012 5:03 am

Am I correct when saying that assigning mod1 or mod2 as modulation source in potmap modulation slots 1 to 4 is useless? (on the RME that is)

Since they are listed under the eight performance controls (manual page 59), I was hoping that choosing one of them would make the selected source available that is set with the fysical mod knob at the two mod busses. But that does not seems to be the case.

Only thing I can imagine (but I can not test that with just the RME) is that those selectable mod1 and mod2 sources under potmapping are inputs, that are only available on the keyboard version, or when having the VX-352 attached to the RME. So this manual omission is probably gonna cost me a few extra hundred euro's :(

Can someone spread some light on this? The manual doesn't explain, or so it seems.

Thanks, Boele

Oke, I can answer the question myself now, since the XL arrived yesterday 8)
So the sources take on whatever will be put into the XL's fysical mod CV-in jacks thus for the Voyager RME these mod sources are only useful sources when connecting the VX thingy.
