Weird Phaser???

Post by phatfinger.eth » Fri May 26, 2023 12:45 pm

I am doing a very basic sub bass patch. See attached.

Getting a weird phasing/flanging noise that seemingly isn't connected to anything in my patch. Cant get rid of it. Any idea?

I've literally tweaked every knob on the synth and nothing changes the flanging sound. Pic is of my patch.

It isn't just the oscillators beating against each other? Does turning down Osc 2 or 3 while keeping osc 1 up eliminate the phasing sound?

Yep, same guess here.

Either try to use only one oscillator or sync them.
Another solution is to detune them a litlle more so that the phasing is faster... may be more suitable :)

Also, if you want multiple oscillators but more subtle phasing, it helps to avoid mixing the oscillators with the same strength. Back off on the strength of OSC 2.

Thanks everyone!

Turned out to be a faulty cable. I ended up getting a USB isolator aswell as better cable with quality EMF isolation. Fixed.
