Hey folks,
I recently got an external MIDI keyboard ("Crumar Mojopedals") to control my Grandmother.
The way I use it atm is to power the KB via its USB/MIDI port and connect it to the GM by its 5-pin MIDI-OUT port.
Which works fine.
Now in principle, it is possible to run the KB by connecting it with the USB/MIDI cable only.
The KB should be powered by USB and send MIDI data via the same cable.
It this setup possible with the GM?
Can GM power the KB by its USB/MIDI port?
And be MIDI controlled at the same time?
I do not find any information on this anywhere...
Thanks,
Julian

Well, I don’t know for sure, but it’s highly doubtful. The vast majority of USB ports are directional in the sense that there is a “host” and a “client”. The GM is configured to be a client connected to a host computer. I do not think it is capable of playing a host role for your pedals.
