Lonely note sustained on the matriarch via midi.

Post by Pools » Thu Feb 16, 2023 1:57 pm

Greetings.

Im sending midi from the matriarch to my yamaha cp and (this is a made up word I dont know the problem) there seems to be data overload or something of the sorts as without any sustain pedal connected I sometimes get a lonely sustained note, making it unplayable for that. Tried the same on my vermona 14 and that didn't happen. Anything I can do or is this supposed to happen?

When it happens I can repeat/play the note/key and it sounds sustained, I have to change the program on the cp for it to go quiet.

thanks for any help.

Just for clarification, did you use the Vermona instead of the Matriarch (as a controller) or instead of the Yamaha CP?

Stuck notes usually happen when the ‘Note off’ MIDI message gets lost, but that doesn’t really fit with the fact that pressing the key again still doesn’t release it. Still – just a shot in the dark, but do you perhaps have another midi cable you could try?
