I’m trying (and failing) to connect a Nektar SE49 midi keyboard (USB) to a Grandmother (also using USB) through an iMac. Both the kb and the GM show up in Audio MIDI Setup. The GM is on midi channel 1 and the kb is on 2. (I can use both the kb and GM as controllers for software instruments in Logic.) In AMS I’ve connected the kb MIDI1…out 1 to GM in 1. When I test in AMS, pushing a key on the kb lights the input port for the kb but no sound comes from the GM. I have successfully connected a Hammond SK directly to the GM through a dedicated midi cable but I’d prefer to use the Nektar or other USB controllers.
I’m a USB midi noob and doing something wrong—have mercy and Thanks for any help!
USB midi controller for GM—help!
Re: USB midi controller for GM—help!
Got it to work by creating an external midi instrument in Logic. Details are here: https://9to5mac.com/2015/07/19/logic-ho ... l-plug-in/
