Mother 32 - Sending MIDI from Atom 2 / AUM (iPad) - turn off internal sequencer?

I'm hoping this is possible, but thus far haven't been able to figure it out. I'm sending MIDI from a piano roll app called Atom 2 via AUM on the iPad and I found I had to use a sequence with only 1 note (default) to get something usable. I only hear the notes coming from Atom 2, however it sounds as if the notes a quantized to the single note from the M32 sequencer when running clock out of the iPad. If I disable clock I get the sequence as it was created in Atom 2. Ultimately, I'd like to use MIDI clock to keeping timing with my Subharmonicon and DFAM as well. Anyone know how to get this properly going? I was thinking a work around might be using a MIDI to CV converter like the CV.OCD to bypass the internal sequencer, but still get clock.
