Matriarch - how to overwrite a sequence?

I recorded a sequence on sequence 1 slot / bank 1.

I used a lot of ties, rests, ratchets to experiment. Now I can’t get rid of them.

I put the sequencer into stop mode, flip it over to REC and record a new sequence. The new notes are recording fine but whatever ratchets, ties, rests I had from before are still there.
I’m not updating a recording in play mode. I’m doing this in the stop mode.
Am I missing something. How do I get rid of the rests, ties and ratchets?

Looks like this might be a bug.

Contacted Moog but they don’t seem to have an answer either.
