Midi mother 32 and dfam sync

Hi all, i have a mother 32 and a dfam. I like to play the mother 32 with my DAW (ableton). This means i don’t send sync to the mother 32 (if i did it would play a pattern when i fired up the DAW). But i would like to use the M32 to keep the DFAM in sync with the DAW’s tempo. Is there away to send clock or a sync to the DFAM without sending sync from the DAW to the M32?

Or a way to send sync to the m32 but not have it trigger a pattern? I tried to creat a pattern of all rests on the M32 but that mutes the notes my DAW is trying to play through the M32.

Hope this makes sense, apologies if it’s not clear what i’m trying to do.
