Velocity/Seq Signal Path with EGs and VCAs

Post by Laflamme » Fri Nov 01, 2019 1:06 pm

Hi guys!

I have a question about the Velocity/seq and the DECAY on the DFAM...

I try to figure out what is the internal signal path to get the same result out of a ... let's say a Moog 5U Modular.
I love my DFAM and love the way I can get amazing tones/grooves out of it... there is magic with this Velocity knobs I can't get out of a traditional Step Sequencer, ADRS, VCA etc signal path...
The way the DFAM is done is outstanding. When you set a long decay, and let say the 4 next steps are set at low velocity, the tail of the decay isn't stoped by the trig of the next step but continues until a velocity trigs a CV louder than the curve of the decay...

I don't know if my explanation is clear enough... but I really want to understand how it is made! It's genius and to me it is clue of the musicality of the grooves you can create with it!
;)

Many thanks!

Sam
