GM Filter Cutoff

I heard the filter won’t open up all the way and that the attenuverter into the filters cv input won’t help getting the cutoff up to where it belongs! It’s kind of a deal breaker for me.
Anyone?

While it's true that the GM's Cutoff knob by itself doesn't fully open the filter, patching the Attenuator Output (which provides a voltage if nothing is plugged into the input) to the filter Cutoff Input can be used to open the filter to its fullest. Why would that be a deal breaker?
