Midi Sync not working.

Love my Moog Grandmother, but I cannot get it to sync with Logic X. I follow the instructions, you know press hold and Sync at the same time, press G#0, then F0, and sync again, per the manual, but nothing happens. My Moog Mother 32 works perfectly. Perhaps I'm connecting it wrong, i.e. through midi as opposed to USB. Any ideas or suggestions would be welcome. Are others having the same problems? Thanks.
