Wow, Mother-32 has reinvigorated Moog!

I didn't want to like the Mother-32 but I believe it has reinvigorated Moog Music. As Elektron know very well, a built in sequencer adds so much to a synth. A sequencer is rightfully part of the instrument not an optional add on. So Mother-32 came out of nowhere and sets a new energy and direction to Moog Music. The videos are spot on too.

I find your post a little confusing. With the exception of using 1/8 jacks for the patchbay, and the high pass filter, there isn't much new. That may be why it's so inexpensive. The sequencer is straight out of the sub37. You COULD make the argument that the Sub37 "reinvigorated" Moog, but that even seems to be a back-handed compliment. I don't think Moog needed to be reinvigorated.

I had no idea there was a sequencer in the Sub37. Sorry about the stuff up.

There was also a powerful sequencer in their recently released full-on modular System 55... which quickly sold out despite it's $35,000 price tag! So yeah, Moog's actually been on a roll for awhile now... there is something for all of us, from the low end to the very high end, and everything in between!

Having watched videos of the step sequencer in the Sub 37 I can say Mother-32 totally gets sequencing right with a vibe the Sub-37 doesn't have. And the M-32 videos show off capabilities without being too hipster, too technical or unmusical. Well done Moog!

I thought the mother 32 and sub 37 had the same sequencer. Shows what I know.

So you're making statements about two synths that you have never played, using completely opinion-based statements. Brilliant. Maybe you should do what your signature line says, and just stop talking.

Is that really necessary? This forum is made up of Moog and synthesizer enthusiasts. There's no reason to belittle others here.
