Life has taught me to not really get into all the fervor until I see it being released, and, a proper demo. I am a long-time fan of other Synth Co.'s, and will use Waldorf as an example, and no chagrin towards Waldorf, but experience has taught me to refer to *anything* as 'vaporware' until tangible evidence and documentation proves otherwise and on a shelf for sale. (love my Pulse 2 but I fell for the pre-order hype and waited months, never again)

If it is hyperbole marketing hype...well, it's a different world and taking advantage of social media with 'teasers' is like "The Art of War", strategy, strategy, and strategy.
(I will laugh until tears if Moog does send out a mass email at 23:59 N. Carolina Time)....LOL!

Meanwhile, I feel I have "Father" with the Sub 37 and getting back to ear-candy. Silly Humans. Demon Dan just posted some serious Sub 37 CV Routing Homework...it will definitely take your mind off of 'Mother' :D

The rumor machine at work. Nothing new so far. No announcement from Moog Music, pure speculation.

Well, not pure speculation, since people got to demo it at Knobcon this past week.

That's my sketch! I went back to look at the Mother-32 a couple of times to get a good mental snapshot.

The sketch was awesome and the comment inside it was hilarious... Sweetwater operators are standing by, pre-orders are now being accepted. Time to make some room on the rack. Man that was close, we almost went to the DARK side ... :-)

We surely appreciate you taking the time to do that. I hope you don't mind me reposting it.

They made us put our cell phones in a
basket before we entered the room
where the Mother 32s were set up.
I think it is cool, but I must admit I was
Slightly disappointed. Only because the group
That went in before me seemed so amazed
That my mind started racing thinking,
"What have they done, did they make a new
Memorymoog?!"
I am to blame for my foolish expectations.
It is just that they made this so hyped up and
Mysterious that I jumped to huge conclusions.

i don't think the mother will necessarily be a good choice as an additional Osc for the Sub 37 if that's the primary motivation. It seems to be somewhat limited based on preliminary info. If the cv control is decent it may have more potential for use in a eorurack setup.

The sequencer may bring more to the table but we need more specs to see how that pans out. I already have a Sub P for the extra Osc and the sub 37 has limited cv inputs so in this case will it be worth it?

The Werkstatt makes a great third osc for the Sub37 and it is much more limited, especially in terms of waveforms. It will only do about 4 octaves accurately and you have to DIY MIDI into it as well. All that said, it sounds absolutely gorgeous as a third oscillator. I imagine Mother will alleviate all of those limitations and then some.

Regardless of how Moog intends to position the Mother-32, I am looking forward to pairing it with my two Werkstatt's when it comes out. For relatively cheap, it seems like it will offer a great entryway into modular. I've already got the 1/8" jack conversion kit on both the Werkstatt's and am running them into my Serge system via a conversion box (1/8" to banana). Working great so far. Now to hook them up to my Foogers. Mwaaaa haaaaaa haaaaa...

I drew the new Moog Mother 32 form memory while I was at Knobcon. The knob placement is wrong and the number of knobs is wrong, but I think it captures the feel of it at least.

All I have are my Kronos and Minitaur but I wonder how this might pair with the Minitaur. Hmm. Watching closely! I also never thought of adding the werkstat might be a nice little set up with all three!
