Syncing Subharmonicon and Logic tempo via Keystep Pro

Post by Jedwardsb » Fri Jun 26, 2020 8:34 am

Hello

Loving the SH but having difficulty syncing it with Logics drummer. Is there a way to do this from the tempo knob on my keystep pro so that the SH sequence locks with Logic’s drummer tempo?

Connections
- keystep into USB Port of Mac
- keystep midi out to SH

Any help is greatly appreciated

Hello,

If I get you correctly, You wish to sync/control both Logic and SUbH tempi by the internal Keystep Pro Clock.

May I ask what specific trouble you actually experience trying to do this? Just to make sure I won’t try reinventIng the wheel by answering.

That said: since SubH does receive both MIDI clock and CV clock messages, why not use either? Set your Keystep to act as master clock, connect the SubH to the Keystep via 5 pin MIDI cable (which ist about 5 Euros in any music store) and the included 5 pin to mini jack adapter. Logic gets parallel MIDI controlled via USB.

Fingers crossed: I didn’t try this myself yet, neither did I the other option (CV clock to Clock in on the SubH patchbay) — which may be even more funny because of all the clock division send/receive settings possible.

HTH!

Greetings from Germany
