Common usage of "Controls to Oscillator" CP3 panel

Post by MRNUTTY » Mon Jun 14, 2021 1:41 pm

The CP3 has a controller function channeling four inputs to the CV frequency input of oscillators - and filters.

I haven't see many examples of this in use. I would imagine you might select between ribbon, keyboard and joystick as the main controller.

It appears to be a simple controller selector to facilitate cable management like the other normal-ed signaling.

I don't see pitch and model wheel treated similarly, perhaps the CP3 trunk lines are used for that?

I do admire the nod to neatness by providing options for cable management.

Trunc lines are just connections between front and back of a synthesizer. Afaik they were used for studio integration. The easiest way of processing CVs which come from whatever is plugging them into the EXT connector. I did this when transposing my 960 clone with the keyboard. But of course you can connect any CV (or audio) internally, as you like. The CP3(A) is just a dc coupled mixer at the end.
