Moog 925 VC Reverb

Post by analogmonster » Mon Feb 01, 2021 2:24 am

Hello everybody,

does anybody know details about this custom module? Schematics anybody? Or at least which technology was used for this, e. g. BBD (PT2399, MN3207, TDA1022 or similar) or was it a controller for a spring reverb?

Thanks

Probably a product of the long gone Moog CE (Custom Engineering), run by Mike Bucki former engineer of Moog Music (Buffalo NY) Custom Engineering department. Bucki is AWOL and the whereabouts of Moog CE documents are unknown.

Concur that was probably not a ream Moog module. The originals all used spring reverbs.

I recall speaking to Mike by phone about this module years ago.

Specifically about ideal placement of the spring in the cabinet instead of the original 905 where the spring was angled within the C-frame of the module itself. He was struggling with his own satisfaction on the analogue driver electronics as well as "best placement" of the "metal tin with the springs". My words not his.

It was a Bucki "basement" Custom Engineering module and it was definitely a spring. My impression was he might have sold 1 or 2 at best.
