Early 901b ...

Does anyone know if the early versions of the 901b were ever put into
production ? I’m thinking of the July 1966 prototypes of which there’s
schematics in the Moog archive.

Or are most 901bs built basically using the Norlin schematics ?

I know the boards vary on the early 901bs.

When I visited Martin Newcombs Synth museum in the 90’s
I made some rough recordings of one of the early version 3C ‘s 901b’s
and have been puzzled by the seemingly different tonal quality of this
module to other 901bs. There were several 901bs in the system all looking standard 901b modules as were all the other modules.
The tone of the saw for example seems far more ‘buzzy/sharper and grittier ‘ than any standard 901bs I’ve heard. Also the other wave forms
appear the same as a result.
It could be the actual recording, but I doubt it, the timbre is quite prominent.
Not sure how to put audio on this query but if anyone’s interested I could
post on You Tube.

sounds interesting, if you post a link to youtube I'm sure some people ( Noddy? ) would chime in
