I just finished restoring a near-original Moog System 55 for a client and took the opportunity to photo document the system. It is on my Moog System 55 Restoration page http://modularsynthesis.com/moog/system ... stem55.htm. I didn't duplicate pages for three of the modules that were the same revision as documented on my Three Cabinet Moog Restoration page http://modularsynthesis.com/moog/moog1/moog1.htm.
Enjoy.

System 55 Restoration
Re: System 55 Restoration
Hi Dave, thank you for your wonderful report about System 55, and also for the previous one. The information you supply are unvaluable, specially for modular cloners.
I have just a question for you, if I may.
I noticed that the page on the 921B shows a picture of the component side of the 921A where one would expect the component side of the 921B.
In the last few months I have managed to reverse engineering the pcb layout of the 921B, using some photos I collected from the internet, and I have still a couple of points to be cleared, then your photo would be very useful to me.
Thank you again and greetings from Italy

Re: System 55 Restoration
Nice work, Dave. Spent many hours surfing your informative web pages.
Gear list: '04 Saturn Ion, John Deere X300 tractor, ganged set of seven reel mowers for 3 acres of lawn, herd of sheep for backup lawn mowers, two tiger cats for mouse population control Oh you meant MUSIC gear Oops I hit the 255 character limi

That was strange. My source page was correct but the HTML it generated was wrong. I have it corrected now. If you want a high resolution of those photos email me at the address on my home page. The originals are ~3600x2900 resolution.dombedos wrote:I have just a question for you, if I may.

Dave,
Excellent and interesting as always. One question, did you notice if the inductors in the 914 are toroids or spool type?

I didn't look at them that closely. This is the best image I have of the 914 and it is hard to tell but it looks like a toroid to me.dingebre wrote:Dave,

However, I have a better photo of the 907 inductor and it is clearly a toroid so I would say both must be.

Re: System 55 Restoration
Thanks Dave. I thought I had read/heard that they were toroids and your photos seem to confirm this. When I did my clone, Carsten Toensmann wound some custom spool type inductors for me. They seem to work fine, but I have no 914 against which to directly compare.

Re: System 55 Restoration
Thank you for your reply Dave. The corrected page worked wrong like before to me, but it sorted out that it was due to my old browser. I'm running with an old Macbook, with an outdated, unsupported version of Safari. When I opened the page with Chrome, it worked just fine.davebr wrote:

Time to purchase a new computer.
Thank you again, also for all the good stuff you share on your site.
