Upgraded my Werkstatt

Post by dubbeljoe2018 » Mon Nov 05, 2018 9:05 am

Hi all,

First post of a Werkstatt owner who also likes woodwork :-)
I always hated the way my Werkstatt with CV expander looked.
I tried to make ik more Moog like without going overboard.

So hope you like this oak Werkstatt enclosure!

The wood comes from my old oak floor from my living room :-)

Now I just need some nice knobs, maybe also oak?

cheers,

Looks great! The deep grain has a really classic look.

I think some Alco-style knobs would be a good aesthetic fit with the case. The really small ones (and probably the next size up) won't cover up the text under the knob.

The wood casing looks great! I like how you accommodated for the overhang of the CV board so it doesn't look like it's sticking out! I just got my Werkstatt and I love it. I'm hesitant to upgrade the knobs because I personally don't like the idea of the control names being covered up, but I would definitely love a wood case like that!

thanx for your reaction @ritual_of_the_sea
I really enjoy my Moog Werkstatt.
One of the things I didn't like was the overhang.
First I made another PCB with no overhang, but that also didn't look great.
Then I though about "bridging the gap" :-)

I made this one for myself, but we ( 2manysynths ) make all kind of enclosures for synths.
Check it out, and if you have questions, just email me via that website!
